Colossians 3.1-4 – The Risen You

When Jesus rose from the dead, a re-made human race rose with him, and that includes YOU.  The New You is where Jesus is—at the Shack with Papa and Sarayu, doing their thing together, and loving every minute of it. (2) Since you have already died, the wounds you have suffered can no longer threaten your life.  So stop brooding on the wounds of your past; instead, fix your eyes on the One who is your Future. (3) Because when Jesus died, you and the rest of the whole human crap-fest died with him.  And the Risen You is there, in Jesus, shining and beautiful. (4) For now, the New You is hidden, like Jesus is— gentle, in the background, easy to ignore. But there will come a day when he (and you with him) will be seen clearly by all.

I like this last part: ” For now, the New You is hidden, like Jesus is— gentle, in the background, easy to ignore. But there will come a day when he (and you with him) will be seen clearly by all.”

    • Thanks Sandy (Sorry I took so long to notice your comment and reply). That idea of being obscure with Jesus–it was the MESSAGE translation of this verse that taught me that. It’s one of my favorite (and most personally meaningful) MESSAGE passages.
